Dr. Abola is the current Program Director of the Strategic Business Economics Program (SBEP), a Senior Economist and Asst. Professor of the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). He is also the Executive Director of the UA&P-FMIC Capital Market Research Alliance; an Independent Director of First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp., a stock brokerage subsidiary of First Metro Investment Corp. He is the principal senior consultant of the Department of Trade and Industry in the crafting of the eCommerce Philippines 2022 Roadmap.
He has a Ph.D. in Development Management and Master of Science in Industrial Economics from University of Asia and the Pacific, and a Bachelor degree of Science and Arts in Commerce Major in Accounting from De La Salle University.
FISCAL AND MONETARY POLICY EXPERT
Dr. Victor Abola is one of the country's top fiscal and monetary economists providing advice to the government and private sector. He was the Chief of Party of the Fiscal Policy Analysis Activity of the Department of Finance, a project funded by the USAID in order to enhance policy analysis and revenue forecasting capabilities of DOF’s Domestic Finance Group. This work involved completing one of Asia’s first Microsimulation Models for major taxes. He was the President of the Philippine Economic Society (PES) in 2015 and was recently elected as a member of the Board of Directors. He is a member of the Western Economic Association International (WEAI) since 2016. He is a Director of the First RGP Land Development Corp. from 2013 to the present.
