From tariff reduction, trade agenda and discourse have shifted to the elimination of non-tariff measures (NTMs) to address behind-the-border trade barriers. As the country combats the pandemic under a state of calamity, it is imperative that cross-border movement of goods remains unhampered by unnecessary behind-the-border NTMs.
As part of the RESPOND (Regulatory Reform Support Program for National Development) project, we now look into NTMs on food products with a previous webinar held last August 5, 2020 on meat and processed food products.
